Paver sealing in Florida generally runs between $0.75 and $3.50 per square foot, and a standard 600 square foot two-car driveway usually lands somewhere between $550 and $1,800. That is a wide spread, and the reason it is so wide matters more than the average. The number depends on how much prep the pavers need, not just how big the area is.
At Top Down Exterior Cleaning, paver sealing is our main line of work. Below are the ranges you will see quoted around Lakeland, what moves a quote to the top or bottom of them, and how to tell which quote is actually complete.
What Does Paver Sealing Cost in Florida by Project Size?
Most companies price by the square foot, then apply a minimum charge for small jobs. These are the ranges commonly quoted across Florida in 2026.
| Project | Typical size | Cost range |
|---|---|---|
| Walkway or entryway | 100 to 300 sq ft | $200 to $800 |
| Small patio or pool deck | 300 to 400 sq ft | $400 to $1,200 |
| Standard two-car driveway | around 600 sq ft | $550 to $1,800 |
| Large driveway or pool deck and lanai | 1,000 sq ft and up | $1,250 to $3,500 |
Ranges reflect published Florida pricing guides for 2026 and are provided for comparison. They are not a quote. Central Florida tends to sit in the middle of these ranges, roughly $1.50 to $3.00 per square foot for a full clean and seal.
Most companies also set a minimum charge, usually somewhere between $200 and $1,000, because travel, setup, and equipment cost the same whether the area is small or large. That is why a 100 square foot walkway rarely costs a tenth of a 1,000 square foot driveway.
Why Do Paver Sealing Quotes Vary So Much?
Because “paver sealing” describes three different jobs, and companies quoting the low end are often not quoting the same work as companies at the high end.
- A straight re-seal on pavers that were sealed recently and are still clean. Least prep, lowest price per square foot.
- A full clean and seal. Deep cleaning, fresh joint sand, then sealer. This is what most Florida homeowners actually need and it is the middle of the range.
- A restoration. Old failing sealer has to be stripped first, or the pavers are heavily stained, or joints have dropped and need significant sand. Stripping alone commonly adds $200 to $400.
So a $0.75 per square foot quote and a $2.50 per square foot quote can both be fair. They are describing different amounts of work. The trouble starts when a homeowner compares them as though they are the same.

What Determines Paver Sealing Cost in Florida?
Four factors move the price more than anything else. Once you know them, comparing quotes gets much easier.
- Square footage. The base of every quote. Larger areas usually cost less per square foot because setup time spreads across more surface, and many companies apply volume pricing over 1,000 square feet.
- Condition. Faded or heavily stained pavers commonly add 10 to 25 percent, because prep is the bulk of the labor.
- Joint sand. Florida storms wash joint sand out over time. Refilling the joints typically adds $0.10 to $0.30 per square foot in materials and labor.
- Sealer and coats. We apply two coats of Ure-Seal H2O on every job, which costs more than a single coat and lasts considerably longer.
Access matters too. A pool deck behind a screen enclosure takes longer to set up than an open driveway. Older pavers also absorb more sealer, which raises material cost on a first sealing compared with a re-seal.
What Should a Paver Sealing Quote Include?
A complete quote covers every step of the job, from cleaning to the final coat. Ask whether these are in the number:
- A deep clean with commercial-grade cleaners and a surface cleaner, to remove weeds, mold, algae, and stains
- Fresh joint sand refilled to the proper level
- Stripping of any old or failing sealer, if the pavers have been sealed before
- The sealer named by product
- How many coats
- How long the job takes, and when you can walk or drive on it
Our process is three steps and most jobs are cleaned, re-sanded, and sealed in one day, using two coats of Ure-Seal H2O that go on milky and dry clear.
What Does a Cheap Paver Sealing Quote Usually Leave Out?
Joint sand is the most common omission, and it is the one that costs you later. Sealer locks the joints exactly as it finds them, so sealing over low joints seals in the gap where weeds and ants get back in. We go through that in will sealing a paver driveway keep weeds out.
Other things worth asking about directly:
- One coat instead of two
- A rinse instead of a deep clean, which leaves mold in the pores under a clear coat
- Sealing over a previous sealer that is already flaking
- No mention of cure time, which is how people end up driving on soft sealer
Is Paver Sealing Worth the Cost in Florida?
For most Florida homeowners, yes, because of what the sun and rain do to unsealed pavers. The Concrete Masonry and Hardscapes Association notes that joint sand needs topping up once it drops more than half an inch, and sealing is what holds it in place.
The better comparison is the cost of sealing against the cost of resetting sunken, weed-filled, stained pavers a few years from now. Resetting costs considerably more than maintaining.
A first sealing typically lasts about 2.5 to 3 years in Florida. Spread over about three years, a $1,200 driveway works out near $400 a year.
Pavers around a salt pool have a second reason to seal. Salt works into the open pores and breaks down the paver face over time, which we cover in does salt water damage pavers around a pool.
Does Cleaning Cost Extra?
At Top Down, cleaning is included in every sealing job. It is Step 1 of our process, because sealer locks in whatever sits underneath it. A paver that is sealed dirty stays dirty under a clear coat.
If you only want the surface cleaned and are not ready to seal, that is a different and cheaper service. Our driveway cleaning covers concrete and pavers.
How Do You Compare Two Paver Sealing Quotes?
Put them side by side and check five things rather than the total:
- Is the square footage the same on both?
- Is joint sand included on both?
- Is stripping included, if the pavers were sealed before?
- Is the sealer named, and how many coats?
- Is the company insured?
Once those five match, the prices usually land much closer together than they first appeared. We serve Lakeland and the surrounding Polk County area and we are glad to walk you through what a quote covers.
Paver Sealing Cost Questions, Answered
How much does it cost to seal a 600 square foot driveway in Florida?
Most two-car driveways land between $550 and $1,800 depending on condition and whether old sealer needs stripping. A driveway in good shape sits near the bottom of that range.
Is there a minimum charge for paver sealing?
Usually yes, commonly $200 to $1,000. Travel, setup, and equipment cost the same regardless of size, so very small jobs are priced closer to the minimum than to the square footage.
Does sealing cost more the first time?
Often, yes. Unsealed pavers are more porous and absorb more sealer, so material cost is higher on a first application than on a re-seal.
How often do you pay for it?
About every 2.5 to 3 years in Florida. Driveways with heavy traffic trend toward the shorter end, shaded patios toward the longer end.
Can you get a price over the phone?
For a lot of exterior work we can give you a number quickly once we know the size and condition. Pavers that have been sealed before are the main case where we want to see them first.
